In addition to revealing the minimum skin area necessary for the surgical incision, cover other parts of the surgical patient, so that the surrounding environment of the operation becomes a larger sterile area to avoid and minimize the contamination during the operation.
 

  When laying the sheet, it is necessary to avoid too small exposure of the surgical incision, and to minimize the exposure of the skin around the incision. There should generally be six layers of sterile towel covering around the operating area, with at least two layers on the periphery; only one sterile perforated towel should be covered for minor operations.
 

Four treatment towels are laid first: usually the opposite side of the operator, or the relatively unclean area (such as the perineum, lower abdomen, and head), and the side closest to the operator at the end (such as abdominal surgery, the order of covering is lower first , opposite side, back above, this side or first below, above, back opposite side, this side). Then lay a medium sheet on the top and bottom, and finally cover with a large sterile sheet.
 

The head end should cover the patient's head and the anesthesia frame, and the two sides and the foot end should droop more than 30cm from the edge of the operating table.
